Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon underwent arthroscopic surgery on the lateral meniscus of his left knee Wednesday, and his recovery time is expected to be close to six weeks, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Dixon was injured while scrambling for 21 yards late in the first quarter of Sunday's game against Tennessee. He stayed in for two more plays, including an 8-yard run, then was lifted on the next possession and didn't return. Immediately after the game, coach Mike Tomlin said he could have re-entered the 19-11 victory at Tennessee to hand off the ball if necessary. The Steelers already were without quarterback Byron Leftwich, who still was recovering from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. Charlie Batch played the final three quarters at Tennessee. It was Batch's first extensive game action since 2007.
