Jimi Collins is a passionate Bills fan. The love of his life, Margot, is a passionate Patriots fan. So when they were planning their recent wedding, they decided to embrace the notion of their mixed NFL marriage.
The wedding had a strong NFL theme. The couple stood on a Pats/Bills mat while a minister dressed as a referee conducted the ceremony (all photos courtesy of Jimi Collins):
The newly married couple exited the ceremony to the sounds of a string quartet playing the "NFL on CBS" theme. Then everyone headed to the reception, where Collins wore a Cookie Gilchrist jersey, the ushers wore eye black, and guests were invited to wear jerseys:
In addition to the usual wedding food options, tailgate fare was also available, including hot dogs and beer. But the real treat was the wedding cake, which was filled with Bills and Pats iconography:
Hmmm, not sure about that cake topper. Is Margot being dragged to a Bills game? In any case, Collins says, "People told us it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding."
Congrats to the happy couple, and here's hoping we see more sports-themed weddings.
