Manchester United's Jose Mourinho tips Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho has said he expects Paul Pogba to be a Manchester United player next season, adding that Marcus Rashford would not be loaned out to boost his prospects of first-team football.

Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Pogba -- who arrived at Old Trafford in a then-world record £89m transfer from Juventus -- following an indifferent season and speculation about the strength of his relationship with Mourinho.

But despite French champions Paris Saint-Germain reportedly being prepared to launch a bid for the 25-year-old, Mourinho told a news conference on Wednesday: "I think he is going to be here next season. That's my feeling.

"I can give the guarantee that I don't want him to leave and that the club doesn't want to sell him, and I can give the guarantee that we don't have any approach from him or his agent or from any club.

"So in this moment, for me, he's staying, yes."

Mourinho was adamant that Rashford would not be going anywhere next season despite suggestions that he could be allowed to leave on a loan deal.

Asked whether Rashford needed to do that in order to impress him, Mourinho said: "No. To impress me? He impresses me.

"That's the reason why he was selected for every match of the season -- absolutely every match of the season, and that's why he played in so many of them, so he doesn't need to leave to play or to need anything."
