Propels NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC to Win the Night Across Television in Key Demos

The Jan. 27 edition of NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC – the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in a 109-105 thriller – generated 4,678,000 viewers, up 44 percent from 3,259,000 viewers for last season’s comparable game (Warriors-Clippers).

Additionally, the success of the Warriors-Celtics game propelled ABC to win the night across all of television in the coveted M18-34 and P18-34 demos for the second straight week.

NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC continues on Feb. 3, at 8:30 p.m. ET when the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James make their first Saturday ABC appearance of the season against the Houston Rockets and James Harden. Mike Breen, analysts Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy and reporter Lisa Salters will provide commentary.

The first edition of ABC’s NBA Sunday Showcase tips this Sunday at 2 p.m. when the Los Angeles Lakers and Lonzo Ball visit the Oklahoma City Thunder and Russell Westbrook. Mark Jones will call the action with Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Hubie Brown and reporter Doris Burke.

NBA Countdown with Michelle Beadle, Paul Pierce, Jalen Rose and Chauncey Billups will precede both games this weekend with 30 minute pre-game shows.
