Taylor’s Made for This: Maria Taylor Inks New Deal with ESPN

Maria Taylor, one of ESPN’s most versatile commentators, has signed a new deal that will keep her on ESPN’s networks for years to come. The host, analyst and reporter, who has become a prominent voice in the network’s college sports coverage, will continue her roles on a number of franchise programming including ABC Saturday Night Football, Saturday Primetime (men’s college basketball) and studio host for Big Monday, Thursday Showcase (women’s college basketball) and the NCAA Women’s Final Four.

“I have been blessed with so many opportunities to grow and evolve as a broadcaster and learn from so many incredible people,” said Taylor. “I am excited to start the next chapter of my career with my ESPN family, and to continue working with the players, coaches, and programs that I am incredibly passionate about.”

Taylor enters her second season on College GameDay Built by The Home Depot this year, and will continue as a rotating host on College Football Live, in addition to contributing to other ESPN shows, including Get Up!, SportsCenter, as well as NBA Draft and NBA Combine coverage.

“Maria’s level of preparation, knowledge, passion and enthusiasm is what makes her standout in everything she does,” said Lee Fitting, ESPN vice president of production. “Her growth at the network is a testament to her versatility both on the sideline and as a host in the studio, shaping her into the ultimate modern day broadcaster.”

Taylor joined ESPN and SEC Network in 2014, covering college basketball and volleyball, and was named the host of SEC Nation in 2016 before moving to GameDay. The former All-SEC Georgia volleyball player also serves as mentor to current student-athletes through The Winning Edge Leadership Academy.

It was always a dream of mine to work at ESPN, and here I am! I joined the College Sports PR team in March 2016. Hailing from the great Garden State, I graduated from Seton Hall University (Go Pirates!) with a degree in sport management, where I not only sang the National Anthem at games, but was also a member of the Seton Hall Sapphires Dance Team and a student reporter for Pirate Sports Network. Before joining ESPN, I served as a Public Relations Associate for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
