The National Association of Collegiate Esports and Hi-Rez Studios announced today that they will host national championships for Smite and Paladins this fall. The competitions will begin in September and include varsity and club-level university teams, according to a joint statement. Both national championships will take place on Nov. 17 at Dreamhack Atlanta and will be broadcast to live-streaming platforms, with a prize of $50,000 in scholarships for the winner of each tournament. "We are always eager to support competitive communities where there is player appetite," Hi-Rez Studios COO Todd Harris said in a statement. "We have been working closely with NACE on varsity esports since May, and they are doing an amazing job putting structure and regulation around college esports competition. We are thrilled to further extend our partnership."
