Oregon will dress like actual ducks against Colorado

College Football, Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks will be dressed as actual ducks when they play conference foe Colorado at home Saturday night.

The team will wear green jerseys with white pants, and will complement that with orange socks and orange cleats. It is the first time that Oregon, the team with the most uniform options in the sports world, has worn both orange socks and orange cleats.

The collar of the jersey reads "Once A Duck, Always A Duck."

As usual, Oregon -- 100 miles from Nike headquarters and the alma mater of Nike founder Phil Knight -- will also be testing new materials with the uniforms.

Nike says this uniform is nearly four ounces lighter than other uniforms currently in its stable. The typical mesh is replaced by laser-perforated woven material and other materials that wick moisture away from typical places where it collects, such as the stomach.
