          TOP STORY: Neymar tops Pogba on Madrid's wish list

          Real Madrid will withdraw their interest in Paul Pogba should they get a deal across the line for Neymar, according to The Sun.

          Paris Saint-Germain have accepted the Brazilian's request to leave the club, but Madrid will have to fork out over £100m to complete the signing, plus some players -- and offer Neymar a contract of £700,000 per week. That's if they can fend off interest from their friends over at Barcelona.

          Based on Neymar's treatment from some of PSG's supporters during their Ligue 1 opening win against Nimes on Sunday, the prospects of staying in Paris look pretty slim.

          Having already spent £150m on signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer, it's thought that an attempt to sign Pogba would be a bridge too far for Zinedine Zidane's side.

          Meanwhile, the Mail reports that Manchester United are convinced Madrid don't have the money to sign their midfielder, despite the Frenchman saying that "only time will tell" where his future lies.

          23.05 BST: One more for the road this Tuesday...

          Veteran Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente -- yes, you read that correctly! -- has become a man in demand.

          The Daily Mail writes that Italian clubs Napoli, Roma, Lazio and Fiorentina are competing for the 34-year-old's signature. The World Cup winner and former Juve man recently became a free agent after his contract at Spurs expired and is viewed as a valuable asset due to his ability in the air and work as a back-to-goal centre-forward.

          We'll see what is next for the veteran Spaniard...

          22.13 BST: Real Valladolid have found their new goalkeeper, announcing a loan deal for Real Madrid starlet Andriy Lunin.

          The 20-year-old Ukraine international is widely considered one of the best goalkeeper prospects in world football and joins Valladolid after spending last season on loan at Leganes. Lunin recently led Ukraine to the Under-19 World Cup title in Poland, winning The Golden Gloves Award along the way.

          21.28 BST: Gareth Bale has reportedly made a decision regarding his future.

          With rumours swirling Bale could be part of a Real Madrid package for Neymar, Sport claims that the Welshman is refusing to leave for Paris in a deal alongside James Rodriguez and £100 million. Bale, who was near a move to China's Jiangsu Suning before the Chinese window shut, is running out of options and may be content to ride the bench under Zinedine Zidane.

          Just your run-of-the-mill £350,000-a-week winger on the bench...

          20.50 BST: Valencia have unveiled new signing of centre-back Eliaquim Mangala from Man City on a free transfer.

          This was finalised late on Monday evening and sees Mangala, 28, return to Mestalla where he played on loan in 2016-17. After signing for Man City for £31.8 in 2014, Mangala departs the Etihad after 57 league appearances for the Blues and only nine since 2016.

          20.10 BST: We mentioned MLS as an option for out-of-contract forward Daniel Sturridge and now we have some initial reporting to back it up.

          D.C. United are talking to the ex-Liverpool man at present, although there are concerns over the 29-year-old's injury history, sources tell ESPN FC.

          Sturridge has spent his entire career on the books of Premier League clubs, playing for the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. He has also had loan stints with Bolton Wanders and West Bromwich Albion.

          He has been part of two UEFA Champions League-winning sides, the first in 2010-11 with Chelsea and then last season with Liverpool. He was also part of Chelsea's league-winning campaign in 2009-10. All told he has made 306 appearances at club level, scoring 105 goals.

          D.C. United will be in the market for a marquee European signing after Wayne Rooney announced he would be leaving the club in January.

          19.34 BST: Mario Balotelli appears to be off to Brazil to sign for Flamengo... but hold on one minute.

          Newly-promoted Brescia are not giving up on signing "Super Mario" just yet and have upped their offer to £2.5m-a-year to keep the polarising striker in his native Italy. According to CalcioMercato, The 2018-19 Serie B champions have offered Balotelli somwhere in the region of £1million-a-year deal with bonuses which could see his earnings rise to £2.5m.

          Balotelli, who recently became a free agent, scored eight goals in 15 games last year after joining Marseille in January and is reportedly set to meet with officials from Flamengo in Europe in the coming days.

          19.02 BST: Liverpool are set up pretty well up front with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino but they likely won't be able to hold onto all three forever?

          18.21 BST: Manchester City have avoided a transfer ban despite admitting breaking FIFA rules on signing young players. City have been fined £315,000 after breaching rules on the transfer and regulation of foreign players under the age of 18.

          There was a risk they could be punished with a transfer ban after Chelsea were banned from registering new players for two windows after a similar breach of FIFA regulations. They cannot sign new players until the end of January 2020.

          Instead, City have been hit with a fine after admitting breaking the rules. A statement issued by FIFA on Tuesday read: "The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned English club Manchester City FC for breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18. "Manchester City FC was found to have breached, amongst others, article 19 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

          "The Disciplinary Committee took into account the fact that Manchester City FC accepted its responsibility and sanctioned the club with a fine of CHF 370,000. "The protection of minors is a key element in FIFA's overall regulatory framework relating to the transfer of players, and the effective enforcement of these rules is paramount, as has also been confirmed on various occasions by the Court of Arbitration for Sport."

          17.57 BST: How about an update on Barcelona's meeting on Tuesday with PSG regarding Neymar?

          Sources tell ESPN FC that Camp Nou president Josep Maria Bartomeu sent director of football Eric Abidal and technical secretary Javier Bordas to represent the club, while Andre Cury, the club's director based in Brazil, who has a strong relationship with Neymar's family was also in attendance. On the PSG side, sporting director Leonardo and trusted No. 2 Angelo Castellazzi were present, while superagent Pini Zahavi, who brokered Neymar's move from Barca to the Ligue 1 side, was also expected to be there.

          Sources say no major advances were made during the meeting, which Barca are viewing as the first contact between the two clubs as negotiations step up. PSG stood firm with the hope of a bidding war breaking out between Barca and Real Madrid. Barca still believe the deal is "very complicated," but Madrid's inability to meet PSG's demands could help the Blaugrana.

          17.29 BST: Newly-promoted Aston Villa have been busy this summer, signing 12 players, including a centre-forward in Wesley and three wingers in Anwar El Ghazi, Jota and Trezeguet.

          One player who could see his playing time decrease with all the new arrivals in forward Jonathan Kodjia. That fact seems to have lured potential suitors for the Ivory Coast international as Ortacizgi.com reports that Turkish giants Besiktas are keen on signing the 29-year-old forward and have begun negotiations.

          Kodjia, who has been at Villa Park since 2016, has scored 29 goals in 98 appearances for Villa, including 19 in his debut season back in 2016-17.

          17.00 BST: Philippe Coutinho's future at Barcelona remains in limbo as we approach the end of the transfer window but a new potential landing spot for the Brazilian has emerged.

          Sky Sports Germany claims that Bayern Munich have interest in the playmaker, who has flopped since moving to Spain in Jan. 2018. Coutinho, 27, is expected to leave Barcelona this summer with the Spanish club hoping to swap him for Neymar in a deal with PSG.

          The report suggests that Bayern are monitoring the progress Barca are having regarding a Neymar-Coutinho swap with PSG and will submit a bid for Coutinho if talks break down. The European deadline this season is Sept. 2.

          16.13 BST: Ajax are in Champions League qualifying action tonight, despite reaching the semifinals last season, and the future of Donny van de Beek has come up.

          Real Madrid have been linked with the 22-year-old midfielder, but his coach Erik ten Hag thinks he will stay.

          "[Van de Beek] only dedicates himself to playing," Ten Hag said ahead of the second leg against PAOK. "I guess and I hope that he stays with us this season. Otherwise, I will hear from [Ajax's director of football,] Marc Overmars."

          15.30 BST: Paul Pogba leaving Manchester United this window? Unlikely...

          14.52 BST: Bruno Fernandes is a name we haven't heard for all of about two days...

          The Sporting Lisbon midfielder didn't get a move to either Man United or Tottenham while the Premier League window was open, but both A Bola and O Jogo back in his homeland have credited AC Milan with interest.

          So Fernandes might yet still get a move, and even if he doesn't then super-agent Jorge Mendes has promised that he'll sort things out for the Portugal international by next year "at the latest," according to the MEN.

          14.11 BST: Inter Milan and Juventus are set to battle over Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa next season, claims Gazzetta, but will any interested club will need to offer €70m.

          Chiesa, 21, is the son of Italy legend Enrico and has impressed in Serie A over the past few years.

          13.40 BST: Former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes has emerged as a candidate to take over David Beckham's Inter Miami FC when they begin MLS life in 2020.

          "I watch MLS quite a bit and it is getting better. I don't know how many people have seen Atlanta. The soccer team are getting more support than the NFL team," Moyes told talkSPORT.

          "We talk about Tottenham's stadium and that is incredible but wait until you see Atlanta's stadium, it is unbelievable. So MLS is growing and Miami is a great city. It is something which I would consider as an option...

          "I do know David from our time at Preston [Beckham was on loan there in 1994-95 while Moyes was manager] so there is a bit of history but we will have to wait and see."

          13.05 BST: Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira has opted to join Hearts on a season-long loan, seeing as there's not much chance of him displacing David De Gea.

          13.02 BST: ICYMI - LAFC have signed defender Diego Palacios from Ecuadorian club SD Aucas using targeted allocation money, the club announced on Monday.

          ESPN FC sources reported last week that the move was set to take place despite MLS's transfer window having already closed.

          Palacios, 20, shone for Ecuador in the Under-20 World Cup in the team's run to the semifinal this year and impressed Barcelona scouts last season while on loan at Willem II in the Netherlands.

          12.18 BST: Barcelona have begun negotiating a cash deal with a player exchange to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, sources have told ESPN FC.

          According to ESPN FC sources, Barca are prepared to offer as much as €100m with Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic -- who Barca will need to convince in order to make the switch -- included as part of the deal.

          Until now, Barca had hoped to negotiate using only players. As well as Coutinho and Rakitic, the Spanish champions had considered adding Ousmane Dembele and Nelson Semedo, despite the fact the Portugal international is considered "unsellable."

          A meeting between the two clubs has been arranged for Tuesday and sources said that Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has chosen director of football Eric Abidal and technical secretary Javier Bordas to represent them. Also in attendance will be Andre Cury, the club's director based in Brazil, who has a strong relationship with Neymar's family.

          Barca still believe this deal is "very complicated," but Real Madrid's inability to meet PSG's demands could help the Blaugrana.

          11.51 BST: Athletic Bilbao sporting director Rafael Alkorta denied reports that his club accelerated Inaki Williams' contract extension amid rumours that Manchester United were keen to sign the Spain international.

          The highly rated 25-year-old forward signed a new NINE-YEAR contract until June 2028 on Monday and saw his release clause increase from €85m to €135m.

          Williams, who has scored has scored 49 goals in 204 appearances for Athletic Club and been with the Basque side since 2014, was a reported target of United on deadline day.

          "No offer has arrived for Williams," Alkorta told Cadena Ser radio. "We had already verbally agreed his contract extension even before the rumours regarding Manchester United. Because of his characteristics, Williams would be a good fit in the Premier League but we wanted him to stay. It may seem as though we rushed but it has taken its time. We know he wants to be here and he also facilitated the renewal."

          11.23 BST: Juventus are preparing to make one more big signing before the close of the transfer window. Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi or Man United midfielder Paul Pogba are the two names brought up by Tuttosport, but there's almost no chance that United sell Pogba without being able to replace him until January.

          Icardi is a different case though, as Gazzetta claims Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to gel with Paulo Dybala or Gonzalo Higuain in Turin, which is why the move for the Argentine is intensifying.

          Napoli are also interested in Icardi, and have told Inter that €60m is their limit according to Corriere dello Sport. Juve might be able to offer either Dybala or Higuain in exchange, which would sweeten the deal for Inter.

          10.49 BST: Valencia attacker Rodrigo Moreno is set for a move to Atletico Madrid in the next few days, according to various reports in Spain.

          The Spain international did not train on Tuesday morning, with talks over a €60m move to Diego Simeone's outfit reportedly at an advanced stage.

          10.23 BST: AS Roma are in talks with Liverpool over the £15m transfer of centre-back Dejan Lovren, according to the Times.

          Lovren is very much fourth-choice now behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

          10.04 BST: Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has moved on loan to Bayern Munich.

          09.55 BST: The Italian Serie A window ends on Aug. 23 and Roma are close to agreeing deal with Juventus for a player linked with Arsenal earlier in the window, says Corriere dello Sport.

          Centre-back Daniele Rugani has been shunted down the pecking order with the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and he's set to move on for €5m loan fee, then €25m obligatory purchase next summer.

          09.34 BST: OGlobo reports that Flamengo executives are travelling to Europe with a view to advance negotiations to sign free agent Mario Balotelli.

          Flamengo president Rodolfo Ladim has given the green light for the deal and the club are prepared to offer a two-and-a-half year contract to Balotelli, who is also a reported target of Fiorentina.

          Balotelli, 29, is looking for a new club after his contract with Marseille ended last month. The former Manchester City player scored eight goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille last season, having played for AC Milan, Liverpool, Nice and Marseille in the last six years.

          09.00 BST: L'Equipe reports that Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder is on the verge of becoming an AS Monaco player.

          The France international underwent a medical on Monday night in Monaco ahead of his transfer to the Ligue 1 club. Monaco will pay the value of the player's €40m release clause and included in the deal will be Monaco's Portuguese midfielder Rony Lopes.

          Ben Yedder is set to sign a five-year contract with Monaco, having joined Sevilla from Toulouse in 2016 for a reported €10m and scored 70 goals in 138 appearances for the Andalusian club since.

          MLS a possible destination for Sturridge

          Former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge will decide on his future this week, with offers coming in from Europe, the United States and the Middle East, according to The Times.

          Now a free agent following the expiration of his contract on Merseyside this summer, Fenerbahce are the latest club to show interest in the England international. They're willing to offer a three-year deal worth £10 million, but they are far from alone.

          Sturridge's representatives have been approached by as many as 13 different clubs, including D.C. United and the Philadelphia Union in the U.S.; Leganes, Real Valladolid and Real Betis in Spain; Bologna and Atalanta in Italy; Marseilles in France; Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany; and even clubs in Qatar.

          Spurs to double Eriksen's wages

          Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to show Christian Eriksen how much they want to keep hold of him by offering him a new long-term contract and a bumper pay raise, the Daily Mail reports.

          The Denmark international is currently on wages of £80,000-per-week, but amid reports that Real Madrid and Juventus are still targeting him, Spurs are willing to increase that to £200,000-per-week.

          However, even if Eriksen does sign the contract, the report says that he will insist on it including a clause that will allow him to join certain clubs for a fixed price.

          - Wantaway Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha has agreed to show 100 percent commitment to the club, at least until the transfer window reopens in January, according to The Sun. Days before the closure of the summer transfer window in England, rumours were abound that Everton were lining up a move for the Ivorian, but that didn't materialise.

          - Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is no longer considered a priority for Paris Saint-Germain, according to CalcioMercato. The French club have turned attention to Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic instead, and that suits Lazio down to the ground, as they're not keen on losing the Serbian.
