Wolves in talks with Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa over Mbaye Diagne - sources

Wolves held talks with the representatives of Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne over a January transfer move, sources have told ESPN.

Diagne, 27, is on the Premier League outfit's shortlist as they are keen on signing a striker over the upcoming winter window.

The next round of negotiations are set to be held between Diagne's representatives and Kasimpasa next week.

The Senegal international striker has been in great form for the Super Lig side this season, netting 12 goals and providing two assists in 12 appearances for the club.

Kasimpasa are in 3rd place in the Super Lig table, just five points behind leaders Galatasaray.

The Super Lig outfit have scored the highest number of goals in the league (26) and Diagne has directly been involved in 14 of those goals.

The in-form striker was closely linked with a move to England over the summer, with Leeds United, Bournemouth and Hull City all making enquiries for the striker. However, talks broke down after it was discovered that Diagne would be unable to play in England due to work permit issues.

Diagne has since applied for an EU passport, which he is eligible for after spells at Italian sides Brandizzo, Bra and Juventus between 2010-15.

Diagne was a highly-rated striker when Juventus signed him in 2013, but his career stagnated after loan moves to AC Ajaccio, Lierse, Al-Shabab and Westerlo.

Juve eventually sold the striker to Hungarian side Ujpest FC in August 2015 before his move to Chinese club TJ Teda in February 2016.

Kasimpasa signed Diagne on a free transfer from TJ Teda in January 2018 and he has gone on to score 24 times and provide four assists in 29 games since making the switch.

Diagne extended his contract with Kasimpasa over the summer until 2022 after initially signing a one-year deal.
