Transfer Talk: Manchester United join PSG, Barcelona in race for Brazilian wunderkind Lucas Paqueta

The transfer window for all of Europe's big five leagues is closed, but that doesn't stop Transfer Talk from rummaging around about who will be moving where come January.

United to rival PSG for Paqueta

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are setting up to fight to sign young Brazilian Lucas Paqueta, according to reports.

The absence of much of a midfield in PSG's 3-2 defeat to Liverpool might just accelerate their talks with Flamengo for the 21-year-old. Without Marco Verratti, Thomas Tuchel deployed Marquinhos to anchor the midfield, which limited the supply to Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani -- isolating the trio, which ultimately cost them dearly.

Paqueta could help the Ligue 1 club, and he's already on their radar with a view to a £35 million move in January, the Sun says, citing reports in France. But those same reports say Man United plan to rival the French club, while Barcelona and AC Milan have also been linked.

Milan prepare massive offer for Ramsey

After bringing in executive Ivan Gazidis, AC Milan will look to use his close contacts at the Emirates in negotiations for Aaron Ramsey.

The Welsh midfielder is out of contract next summer, and the Rossoneri are considering an ambitious move. Calciomercato reports that the terms required to attract Ramsey come to €6.5m per season, roughly equivalent to £111,000 per week.

After Mesut Ozil earned a bumper new contract having waited out the process in negotiations as his deal neared expiration, Ramsey might be using a similar tactic to maximise his value, and Milan are waiting to pounce.

Arsenal hold talks for Pavon

Arsenal have held talks with Boca Juniors to sign Argentinian forward Cristian Pavon.

The news of Gazidis leaving the Gunners for AC Milan has paved the way for Raul Sanllehi to be appointed as head of football, and he is thought to be driving the move for Pavon, according to football.london.

After featuring for Argentina at this summer's World Cup, Pavon has remained with Boca, scoring twice in five games in this season's Primera.

Tap-ins
