With the help of Baseball-Reference.com, and a few of our other internet baseball resources, five notes to know on Chris Young's three-hit game on Tuesday night:

Young• Young's three-hit game was the first by a Mets pitcher since Tom Glavine had three hits against the Padres on Aug. 11, 2005. It was the 25th time a Mets pitcher had three hits in a game, the second such occurrence against the Phillies (Bobby Jones had the other in 1997).

• The Mets have had 17 different pitchers record a three-hit game. (None has ever had a four-hit game.) Sid Fernandez holds the club "record" for three-hit games by a pitcher with four. Dwight Gooden ranks second with three.

• The Mets are now 23-2 when one of their pitchers records three hits in a game. The losses came in the first Mets three-hit game by a pitcher, in which Tom Seaver had three hits, but lost to the Braves on a walk-off home run by Joe Torre in 1967, and Glavine's game in 2005.

• Young is tied for 528th place on the Mets all-time career hit list. Among those he's tied with -- current Athletics general manager Billy Beane, and the object of much Mets fan derision, Kenny Rogers.

• The three-hit game raised Young's career batting average to .152. But it should be noted that he's in the midst of a good run. Young now has nine hits in 31 at-bats, dating back to the 2009 season. That followed a two-season stretch (2007 and 2008) in which he was 9-for-74. Young now has as many hits in 2011 as Twins outfielder Delmon Young. But Young had a good day on Tuesday too, with a game-tying three-run double in a win over the Yankees.
