Oregon, Stanford finish Nos. 3 & 4 in polls

Fair to say the final verdict on the Pac-10 in 2010 is this: Top heavy.

Oregon lost the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game but finished ranked No. 3 in both the AP and coaches' polls. Stanford blew out Virginia Tech in the Discover Orange Bowl and finished ranked fourth.

And that's it. No other Pac-10 team was ranked. Washington, which beat Nebraska in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl, received a single vote in the coaches' poll.

Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian is a voter in the coaches' poll, by the way.

Future Pac-12 member Utah finished 23rd in the coaches' poll but was only tops among the "others receiving votes" in the AP poll.

The last time the Pac-10 had two teams finish in the final top 5 was 2000 (No. 3 Washington & No. 5 Oregon State).
