I know I speak for SEC fans everywhere in extending my deepest condolences to Joe Kines and his entire family. Tragically, Kines’ daughter, Susan Kines Langston, was killed in a car accident Monday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., when another car crossed the center line and hit her car head on, according to police. Her two sons were also in the car and airlifted to the hospital. Please keep Kines and his family in your thoughts and prayers. He’s been an institution in SEC coaching circles and is truly one of the good guys in the business. Kines, who last coached in the league at Alabama under Mike Shula, also served stints as defensive coordinator at Georgia, Arkansas and Florida. He was Arkansas’ interim head coach in 1992 after Jack Crowe was fired after the first game that season.
