ESPN Commentators for 2013 NFL Draft

ESPN has announced its commentator lineup for the 2013 NFL Draft presented by Bud Light, its 34th consecutive year of televising the event. The three-day telecast will air April 25-27 on ESPN and be available via WatchESPN. The first two nights will air in primetime, and for the second straight year the first hour of Round 1 on Thursday, April 25 will be available with limited commercial interruption.

Chris Berman (covering his 33rd NFL Draft) will host ESPN’s primetime coverage Thursday, April 25 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. He will be joined by analyst Mel Kiper, Jr. (working his 30th Draft) and Monday Night Football analyst and Super Bowl-winning head coach Jon Gruden on ESPN’s main set. Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen and NFL Insider Adam Schefter will report from an additional set at Radio City, while NFL32 host Suzy Kolber will conduct interviews on-site with draft prospects.

ESPN’s NFL Draft telecast on Day 2 (Friday, April 26: Rounds 2-3) and Day 3 (Saturday, April 27: Rounds 4-7) will feature NFL Lives Trey Wingo hosting from Radio City with Trent Dilfer, Kiper and ESPN Scouts Inc. director of college scouting Todd McShay.  Six-time NFL Executive of the Year Bill Polian, Mortensen and Schefter will also be on-site in New York. Kolber will co-host 10 hours of NFL Draft coverage on Saturday from Bristol with analysts Tedy Bruschi, Herm Edwards and Ron Jaworski, beginning with SportsCenter Special: On the Clock at 10 a.m. ET.

In all, ESPN will present 28 live hours of NFL Draft and surround programming, beginning Thursday, April 25 and concluding Sunday, April 28 with SportsCenter Special: NFL Draft Grades at 3 p.m. Coverage includes daily

SportsCenter Special: On the Clock and SportsCenter Special: Draft Countdown shows, as well as draft-centric editions of NFL Live on both Thursday and Friday.

Leading up to the three days of NFL Draft telecasts, ESPN will air SportsCenter Special: On the Clock shows with many of ESPN’s top studio analysts, including Cris Carter, Dilfer, Tom Jackson, Jaworski, Keyshawn Johnson, Polian and Steve Young from Bristol. Wingo will host the Thursday special at 5 p.m., Wendi Nix on Friday (5 p.m.) and Kolber on Saturday.

ESPN will dispatch reporters to team sites across the country, including Josina Anderson (St. Louis Rams), Colleen Dominguez (San Francisco 49ers), Sal Paolantonio (Philadelphia Eagles) and Ed Werder (Kansas City Chiefs).

ESPN Radio

Mike Hill and three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth, co-hosts of ESPN Radio’s Hill & Schlereth, will anchor ESPN Radio’s 2013 NFL Draft presented by Bud Light on Thursday and Friday, April 25-26, live from Radio City Music Hall with ESPN.com senior NFL writer John Clayton. ESPN Radio’s coverage will start Thursday at 7 p.m. (Round 1) and Friday at 6 p.m. (Rounds 2-3).

ESPN’s NFL Draft Promotional Campaign

Beginning Monday, April 15, ESPN will launch its 2013 NFL Draft promotional campaign, which focuses on Kiper, arguably the foremost authority on the NFL Draft with his three decades of evaluating prospects and his involvement in the event. In the spots, Kiper highlights the distinctive qualities of several top prospects in this year’s draft class, including cornerback Dee Milliner (Alabama), linebacker Manti Te’o (Notre Dame) and quarterback Geno Smith (West Virginia).
