Officials breakdown: Bill Vinovich

IRVING, Texas -- For the first time since 2006, Bill Vinovich will be the official for a Cowboys game, working Sunday’s tilt at Cincinnati.

A health ailment forced Vinovich to the sideline, but he has returned as a substitute official this season.

The Cowboys knocked of then-undefeated Indianapolis, 21-14, at Texas Stadium on Nov. 19, 2006, and were flagged seven times for 53 yards.

Vinovich worked the Indianapolis-Detroit game Sunday and called 15 penalties, with 12 accepted. The Colts were penalized four times for 36 yards. The Lions had eight penalties for 61 yards.

UPDATE: Vinovich does not have a set crew. This week he will work with Jerome Boger's crew, which worked the New York Giants-Washington game on Monday and had a member leave during the game with an injury. The Giants had nine penalties for 73 yards. Washington had four for 56 yards.
