Torii Hunter Jr. out 4-6 weeks

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame will be without wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. for four to six weeks because of a Grade 3 groin tear, coach Brian Kelly said Saturday.

The son of Detroit Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter, Hunter entered the Irish's first on-campus practice walking with one crutch.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder redshirted last season as he recovered from a leg injury suffered during his prep career. Hunter had a PRP injection this past week and will have two more in the coming weeks.

The Prosper, Texas native entered Notre Dame as an ESPN four-star prospect, ranked as the nation's No. 12 receiver and No. 95 player overall for the Class of 2013.

Kelly also said that leading returning receiver DaVaris Daniels has been limited because of a groin tweak. Daniels, who returned this summer after a spring suspension (academics), caught 49 passes for 745 yards and seven touchdowns last year.
