Detroit Lions add receiver Quintin Payton

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have a bunch of tall targets on their team, from superstar Calvin Johnson to first round pick Eric Ebron to one of last season's contributors, Kris Durham.

On Tuesday, the team added another one as they claimed receiver Quintin Payton off waivers from Tampa Bay.

The 6-foot-4 Payton caught 23 passes for 481 yards and three touchdowns last season at NC State and went undrafted. He was signed by Tampa Bay in May.

Payton would have to make a fairly miraculous move up the depth chart to be part of the roster as there is an already crowded group in front of him headlined by Johnson and Golden Tate along with Durham, Kevin Ogletree, Jeremy Ross, Ryan Broyles and Corey Fuller also fighting for roster spots.
