Veteran fullback among Raiders' cuts

The Oakland Raiders released 12 players to get down to the 75-man limit. The 53-man roster date is Friday.

There are some recognizable names, but no major surprises in the Raiders’ first cuts. Here is the list: linebacker Korey Bosworth, defensive end Mason Brodine, defensive end Wayne Dorsey, safety Aaron Henry, cornerback Terrail Lambert, receiver Thomas Mayo, receiver DeAundre Muhammad, quarterback Kyle Newhall-Caballero, safety Chaz Powell, fullback Manase Tonga, fullback Rashawn Jackson and offensive lineman Ed Wang. The names that stand out are Tonga, who spent some time with the team in the past two years, and Wang.

In another AFC West note:

San Diego coach Norv Turner told U-T San Diego he is encouraged all five starting offensive linemen will be ready to face Oakland in Week 1. Three starters didn’t play at Minnesota on Friday.
