ANALYSIS: With Julian Edelman out with a hand injury, Wes Welker elevated up the depth chart and took all of the reps in the two-receiver grouping along with Brandon Lloyd. The only snaps he didn't play were in the 1-receiver/3-tight end grouping and at the goal-line. While Welker had a second-quarter fumble, he was otherwise remarkable. His third-down catch on the Patriots' final scoring drive was terrific. ... The only snap Brandon Lloyd didn't play was at the goal-line on Stevan Ridley's 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, as the Patriots went to their jumbo package (3 TE/1 FB/1 RB). ... Elsewhere at receiver, Deion Branch wasn't targeted on his 36 snaps. ... Tight end Rob Gronkowski, for the first time this season, sat out a series in each half. That was likely a result of him landing on the injury report Friday (hip) and the team pacing him. ... Tight end Daniel Fells' 45 snaps were a season-high for him as he became a bigger part of the offensive mix and showed up strong from a run-blocking perspective. ... At running back, Stevan Ridley's snaps were split 17/17 between the first half and second half, while Brandon Bolden had six snaps in the first half and 20 in the second half.
