ESPN today announced the launch of the ESPN Fantasy Football app, making its debut on Windows Phone for the first time exclusively on Nokia Lumia smartphones.

“Our mission is to serve fans whenever and wherever they consume sports, and with the launch of the ESPN Fantasy Football app on Nokia Lumia devices, we’re delivering on that goal by making content available on Windows Phones, one of the fastest growing global smartphone platforms,” said Michael Bayle, Senior Vice President, ESPN Mobile.

“We are very excited to bring the best fantasy football brand to Nokia Lumia Windows Phone”, said Bryan Biniak, GM & VP, Global Partnering and Application Development, Nokia.  “With all the great features you expect, like Team Management and FantasyCast scoring, it is a mobile experience that is hard to beat.”

Launching just in time for the upcoming football season, the Nokia Lumia exclusive ESPN Fantasy Football app takes advantage of the Windows Phone platform with panoramic views and toast notifications.  Features and functionality include:

  • Team Management – start/bench players, add, drop, and claim players off waivers, propose, accept, or reject trades with other team owners in a league;
  • FantasyCast Live Scoring – receive real-time player and matchup scoring updates;
  • News, Videos, and Tweets – the latest information from ESPN’s expert fantasy analysts;
  • Message Boards – view and post messages to the league.

The app for Windows Phone is free to download exclusively for Nokia Lumia owners and will be available today within the Nokia Collection in Windows Phone Marketplace.
