Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic to Host New Weekly NFL Highlights Show on ESPN

Mike & Mike’s Best of the NFL, a new weekly National Football League highlights show, will debut on ESPN this fall. Hosted by Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic of ESPN Radio’s popular Mike & Mike in the Morning, the 30-minute show will feature the best highlights from the previous week’s NFL games.

Mike & Mike’s Best of the NFL will count down the top passes, runs, catches, blocks, defensive plays and other categories from around the league. The show will offer footage that NFL fans have not seen in other highlight packages throughout the weekend.

The debut show will be Tuesday, September 11 at 3 p.m. ET, recapping NFL Kickoff weekend. The program will air every week of the NFL regular season. It will originate from the same studio in Bristol, Conn., that Mike & Mike in the Morning and ESPN’s NFL shows use. (Note: Outside the Lines will move to ESPN2 on Tuesdays during the NFL season.)

“Mike and I are really excited to bring a little morning fun to Tuesday afternoons,” said Greenberg. “We both have a passion for football, and hopefully that will come through every week.”

Golic added: “Greeny and I have been very fortunate to do many things for ESPN, with Mike & Mike obviously being the main one, and now I’m really looking forward to both of us doing a football show because the sport has been such a big part of my life.”

Greenberg and Golic are no strangers to the NFL. Golic was a defensive tackle for nine seasons (1986-93) with the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. He joined ESPN in 1995 as an NFL reporter/analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown and he has had an analyst role on NFL Live since the program debuted in 2003. Together, Greenberg and Golic called ESPN’s season-opening Monday Night Football doubleheader from 2007-09. While Golic has the experience of playing in the NFL, Greenberg brings a fan’s perspective as a lifelong supporter of the New York Jets.

ESPN provides year-round comprehensive coverage of the National Football League across multiple networks and platforms. In 2011, ESPN reached a new eight-year agreement (through 2021) that includes rights to more than 500 new hours of NFL-branded studio programming per year. In addition to being the home of the iconic Monday Night Football franchise, popular NFL programs on ESPN include the Emmy Award-winning Sunday NFL Countdown pre-game show, Monday Night Countdown, NFL Live, NFL32, NFL PrimeTime, NFL Kickoff and NFL Matchup. ESPN also televises the annual NFL Draft, the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony, and a variety of programs from the Super Bowl host city as part of the company’s weeklong coverage surrounding the game.
