A look inside scouting department

A year's worth of hard work is about to come to fruition for members of the Patriots' personnel staff, with the NFL draft scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

With this in mind, here is a snapshot look at those who comprise the Patriots' personnel department, based on the team's media guide released last summer:

Nick Caserio -- Director of Player Personnel

A quarterback at John Carroll University, Caserio has served in a variety of coaching and scouting capacities for the Patriots since 2001. He was named Director of Player Personnel following the 2007 season.

Jon Robinson -- Director of College Scouting

Robinson is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State, where he played on the defensive line. After four seasons as a college coach, Robinson joined the Patriots in 2002 and was named Director of College Scouting prior to the 2009 season.

Jason Licht -- Director of Pro Personnel

A defensive tackle at Nebraska-Wesleyan University, Licht is in his second stint with the Patriots. After serving as Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2002, Licht spent time with the Eagles and Cardinals before re-joining the Patriots as Director of Pro Personnel in 2009. He was a finalist for the Bears' general manager opening earlier this year.

Nancy Meier -- Director of Scouting Administration

The longest tenured Patriots employee, Meier enters her 39th season with the team (38th as a full-time employee) and coordinates scouting and player personnel logistics.

Brian Smith -- Assistant Director of College Scouting

After graduating from Providence College, Smith joined the Patriots full-time as Director of Football Operations in 2004 and has since served in a variety of scouting roles. He was named Assistant Director of College Scouting in 2010.

Bob Quinn -- Assistant Director of Pro Personnel

Quinn, a graduate of the University of Connecticut and a native of Norwood, Mass., has spent 12 seasons in the Patriots' scouting department and was named Assistant Director of Pro Personnel in 2009.

Kyle O'Brien -- National Scout

O'Brien has spent the last 12 seasons as a scout for the Patriots after graduating from Harvard University, where he played lacrosse. He was named a national scout in 2010.

Monti Ossenfort -- National Scout

A quarterback at Minnesota-Morris, Ossenfort has split the last ten seasons between the scouting departments of the Patriots and Texans, returning to the Patriots in 2006. He was named a national scout in 2009.

Trey Brown -- Area Scout

A cornerback at UCLA, Brown joined the Patriots in 2010 after stints as a player with the Chicago Bears and in the United Football League. He was named an area scout last season.

DuJuan Daniels -- Area Scout

A wide receiver at Boston College, Daniels spent three seasons as a high school and college coach before joining the Patriots' scouting department in 2006. He was named an area scout in 2008.

Frank Edgerly -- Area Scout

Edgerly served for 10 seasons as the head coach of Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey after playing quarterback at Rutgers University. He joined the Patriots in 2009 as a pro scout and was named an area scout in 2010.

Tim Heffelfinger -- Area Scout

After graduating from Northwestern University, where he was a defensive tackle, Heffelfinger spent time with the Saints as an area scout before joining the Patriots in 2005.

Frantzy Jourdain -- Area Scout

A running back and safety at the University of Rhode Island, Jourdain joined the Patriots in 2003 after coaching at Duquense University. He was named an area scout in 2005.

James Liipfert -- Area Scout

Liipfert was named an area scout last season after spending two seasons as a scouting assistant. He had a five-year career at Georgia Tech as a linebacker.

Patrick Stewart -- Pro Scout

Stewart, a graduate of Ohio State, joined the Patriots in 2007 as a scouting assistant and was named a pro scout in 2010.

Steve Cargile -- Scouting Assistant

After a six-year NFL career as a safety, Cargile, a Columbia grad, joined the Patriots last season as a scouting assistant.

Matt Groh -- Scouting Assistant

The son of former Patriots coach Al Groh, Matt Groh was named a scouting assistant in 2011.

Ronnie McGill -- Scouting Assistant

McGill joined the Patriots in 2010 after a four-year career (2003-06) as a running back at North Carolina.

Larry Cook -- Scouting Consultant

Cook has spent the past 27 years with the Patriots, including six seasons (1997-2002) as Director of College Scouting.
