ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Nate Burleson's potential return to the Detroit Lions appears to be getting closer.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Monday that Burleson is on a good pace to return soon from a broken forearm suffered in a one-car accident in September.
Burleson has been practicing for the past two weeks and was upgraded from out to doubtful last week.
"There's a possibility. He's on a good track," Schwartz said. "He's been back on the practice field. There's a big difference between practice and games. If he's able to, then we can get him out there."
Prior to his injury, Burleson led the Lions with 19 catches and had 239 receiving yards. Burleson has said over the past two weeks that when he returns to playing, it will be a decision made by the doctors and coaches.
Schwartz didn't have an update on running back Joique Bell or safety Glover Quin, both of whom left Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with injuries. Schwartz said after the game that Bell could have returned, but not Quin.
Bell said Sunday that he was injured on a play where he was carrying defenders.
"We've had updates, but all those guys are day to day," Schwartz said. "They are all short-term, day-to-day, week-to-week guys."
