Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal will look forward to taking a break from tennis after winning an eighth Grand Slam title.

All the talk is now on whether Nadal can complete his career Grand Slam by winning the US Open in September, but for now the world No. 1 will celebrate his latest victory after a hectic couple of months.

Nadal has won five of his last six tournaments, and with the ever-present concern that his knee injury will return, the Spaniard will return home to Majorca for a well-earned rest.

"Right now I'm just going to relax and enjoy this amazing season," he said. "For sure the US Open is going to be one of my goals for the rest of my career. But right now it's time to enjoy the beach, fishing, golf, friends, party, and Mallorca."

After an injury-hit 2009 season, Nadal is happy to be back to his best, but he has vowed to continue his rigorous training routine to maintain his status as the world No. 1.

"It was very difficult for me to be back at my best. I did, so it's a very important and emotional moment for me. I want to enjoy that. For sure, I'll keep working to try to be in the US Open and finally try to win it," he said.

"I wake up every morning with the hope of practicing and improving, hoping to play well another time."
