Men’s College Basketball: Armed Forces Classic Tips Off ESPN’s 2017-2018 Season Coverage

ESPN’s college basketball season coverage tips off Friday, Nov. 10, with the Armed Forces Classic from Ramstein Air Base in Germany (6 p.m. ET, ESPN). Just one day before Veterans Day, No. 11 West Virginia and No. 25 Texas A&M will meet for the second consecutive season – the Mountaineers defeated the Aggies 81-77 in last year’s SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The matchup will be called by Karl Ravech and college basketball analysts Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams. Leading up to the game, Ravech, Greenberg and Williams will participate in a number of activities on the base, including the gun range, rappel tower, military-working dog experiences, parachute simulator and vehicle rollover training. Their training experiences will be highlighted during the telecast. The student-athletes will also have an opportunity to interact with servicemen and servicewomen, including a bowling social, a coaches’ pick-up game and a youth clinic with 100 kids.

ESPN’s opening weekend coverage includes more than 90 games across television and digital platforms, all available via the ESPN app.

Anna Negron

It was always a dream of mine to work at ESPN, and here I am! I joined the College Sports PR team in March 2016. Hailing from the great Garden State, I graduated from Seton Hall University (Go Pirates!) with a degree in sport management, where I not only sang the National Anthem at games, but was also a member of the Seton Hall Sapphires Dance Team and a student reporter for Pirate Sports Network. Before joining ESPN, I served as a Public Relations Associate for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
