Mike Mularkey preparing as if Titans will play in Jacksonville on Sunday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans are playing the waiting game to see exactly where they'll be playing Sunday. They are scheduled to play a Sunday, 1 p.m. ET game at Jacksonville, but the impact of Hurricane Irma has the status of that game still uncertain.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey said he would "anticipate us playing down there." He said if a decision was made by the middle of the week it wouldn't affect their preparation. The Jaguars, coming off a road win against the Texans, said they plan to return to Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Titans players were briefed on the possibility of Sunday's game being played in Nashville with the Dec. 31 Jaguars-Titans battle being played in Jacksonville.

"So far all I've heard was there's a chance of it being here and the last game will be there, since there's some flooding there," said safety Johnathan Cyprien, who is from Miami and has family who evacuated to his Nashville-area home prior to the storm hitting.

Tight end Delanie Walker added: "It's going to be hot wherever we go. If it was in December then that could affect how you prepare. If we play them here in December, it's cold. Obviously if we play them there in December, it's hot."

ESPN's Dan Graziano said the NFL is monitoring conditions in case they need to make contingency plans.

If the Titans and Jaguars did swap home games, it would give the Jaguars five straight games away from home to start the season while the Titans would finish the season with three of their last four games on the road.

The Titans and Jaguars share the same Week 8 bye week. The NFL chose to move the rescheduled Dolphins-Buccaneers Week 1 game to a shared bye week.

"I really have not had anything with anybody that would be making the decisions with that. I don't know exactly what their situation is right now," said Mularkey, who has a home in the area and who also has a son living in Florida who recently evacuated. "I haven't heard anything from there. I've been trying to find out some things with the home I have down there, other than that I think they're still in the middle of the storm right now, so I really don't know."
