Curtis Granderson bids goodbye to Lucas Duda

The business of baseball hit the New York Mets clubhouse Thursday, when first baseman Lucas Duda was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for reliever Drew Smith. It appears outfielder Curtis Granderson had a hard time saying goodbye to his teammate.

Granderson's goodbye to Duda was chronicled in a pair of videos on the @wefollowlucasduda Instagram account that Granderson runs. The page, which does exactly what its name would suggest, was put together by Granderson and then-teammates John Mayberry Jr. and Danny Muno during the Mets' 2015 World Series run.

In one video, Granderson waves goodbye to Duda, who tells him he needs somewhere to stay in Tampa. In another, Granderson tries to stop Duda as he exits the Mets' clubhouse.

Duda traded to @raysbaseball. Going to miss big Duda. Best of Luck to you! Go get em!!!

Saying farewell isn't always easy, but it's apparent from the posts above that Granderson and the Mets are hoping for nothing but the best for Duda, even though it looked like it was difficult to let him walk out the doors of the locker room.
