Jimmy Boeheim, son of Syracuse coach, commits to Cornell

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim's oldest son, Jimmy, has committed to Cornell.

The 6-foot-7 forward, who is spending the season at New Hampton Prep (New Hampshire), averaged 23.3 points last season at Jamesville-Dewitt High (New York).

He announced his decision via Twitter:

"Very happy!" Jim Boeheim told ESPN in a text message. "He's a stretch-4 at that level. He can shoot the 3, and can rebound the ball.

"I think it's a great fit for him. He's a good student, it's a good basketball school, and I really like the coach [Brian Earl]."

Boeheim's younger son, Buddy, is a 6-foot-5 2-guard at Jamesville-Dewitt who will also likely be a Division I player. Buddy's twin sister, Jamie, also plays for Jamesville-Dewitt.
