ESPN Unveils Sponsors for X Games Aspen 2017

GEICO Joins the Annual Competition as Music Sponsor

Today ESPN announced the sponsors for X Games Aspen 2017, taking place at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass, Colo., January 26-29, 2017, with live coverage on ESPN and ABC. GEICO joins the roster as the competition’s music sponsor alongside returning official sponsors America’s Navy, AT&T, Coors Light, GoPro, Harley-Davidson®, Jeep® brand, LifeProof and Monster Energy. Polaris returns as an additional sponsor.

The 2017 event will again feature action sports competitions, world-class musical performances and a festival village offering the most complete youth cultural experience for fans of all ages to enjoy.

Serving as the title sponsor of the Men’s Snowboard Big Air competition, America’s Navy will bring an exciting array of attractions to X Games Aspen.  During the event, fans will be able to meet real members of the Navy Special Operations team and check out their gear.  The world-famous “Leap Frogs,” the Navy’s parachute team, is planning several jumps into a drop zone at the base of Buttermilk Mountain.  The popular Warrior Challenge will again invite fans to compete in daily pull-up contests for the chance to win custom Navy X Games snowboards.  Additionally, there will be opportunities to score autographs from Maggie Voisin and Bobby Brown at the Navy display.  Finally, the brand will introduce its Virtual Reality experience where guests can complete an immersive VR mission driving a special warfare boat upriver to rescue a SEAL team.  The digital technology is designed to transform and elevate the way people think about the Navy.

Second-year sponsor Coors Light will host the Coors Light Chalet, which will serve as the start of the Snowmobile course.  The World’s Most Refreshing Beer will also be featured throughout the venue and available during concerts.
Inaugural sponsor GEICO will support the GEICO Music Stage, which will feature musical performances by Bassnectar, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, The Chainsmokers and G-Eazy.

GoPro, the event’s official camera sponsor, will be the title sponsor for Men’s Ski Big Air and integrated into the broadcast, providing unique perspectives via their HEROcast technology, bringing audiences at home closer to the action. During the all Ski and Snowboard Big Air competitions, GoPro cameras will provide live one-of-a-kind camera angles to viewers.

Harley-Davidson is back in Aspen giving fans the chance to check out its most powerful cruiser motorcycle lineup ever.

Returning to the X Games Aspen for the 14th year as the title sponsor of the Slopestyle course, the Jeep brand will feature a booth at the X Fest, where fans can take 360 Degree photos with puppies and share them on social media using the hashtag #JeepXGames. The brand will also activate “The Jeep BASECAMP” at the X Fest, hosting athlete signings, prize giveaways and gifting fans with custom-printed prizes. Similarly to previous years, Jeep will provide guests with its Jeep Snow Patrol shuttle service between downtown Aspen and the mountain.

LifeProof, the No. 1-selling waterproof smartphone case in the U.S., will be the title sponsor of the Men’s Ski SuperPipe. The brand will provide guests with a phone-charging station at the X Fest Deck, as well as product giveaways at the LifeProof booth. Bobby Brown, Sebastien Toutant, Kevin Rolland, Darrin Mees and Christy Prior will all make meet-and-greet appearances throughout the weekend.

Official energy drink sponsor Monster Energy will feature athlete autograph signings, brand ambassadors on site and an outdoor lounge for fans at the X Fest. The brand will also entitle the Monster Energy Snowmobile Freestyle competition.

Fans will also have the opportunity to browse product displays and on-site activations across the venue, provided by Aviator Nation, D’Angelico, Only Natural Pet, prAna, Rings, Snowgirl Sportswear, Timbersled and Sour Punch.

X Games Aspen 2017 will feature 16 hours of extensive coverage and live content distributed on ESPN, ABC, WatchESPN, WatchABC and the ESPN App from January 26 – 29. An additional seven hours of competition will be carried exclusively on the X Games YouTube Channel and XGames.com. Extensive coverage will also feature across ESPN digital and social platforms, including XGames.com, the X Games Aspen App, and X Games on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and more.

Fans will have the opportunity to watch all the action, get an inside look at the event and establish a two-way conversation with ESPN X Games, athletes and other viewers.
