Kansas City Chiefs' home and away opponents for 2017

SAN DIEGO -- The Kansas City Chiefs' 37-27 win Sunday over the San Diego Chargers placed them first in the AFC West and helped finalize their 2017 home and away opponents. The dates of each game will be determined in the spring when the full regular-season schedule is released.

Home opponents (*playoff team): Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders*, San Diego Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers*, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins*, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins.

Away opponents (*playoff team): Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders*, San Diego Chargers, Houston Texans*, New England Patriots*, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys*, New York Giants*.

My take: This schedule will be no picnic for the Chiefs to navigate no matter how the games are ordered. They'll have eight games against 2016 playoff teams, including two against the Raiders. The home-road splits for the non-divisional games did the Chiefs no favors. They'll face the Patriots, Cowboys and Giants on the road. The Chiefs will be making their first visit to the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium, while the Eagles and Redskins will be making their first visits to Arrowhead Stadium since 2005.
