The best Rocket League free agents available

esports

With the Rocket League Championship Series 3 (RLCS) looming, some of the best players in the world are still free agents. Whether they are top regional players or fan favorites, here are six of the world's best to keep an eye on before RLCS rosters lock.

We will start in North America with Kais "SadJunior" Zehri, the longstanding NRG Esports player is now free after being replaced by Garrett "GarrettG" Gordon on the team. With solid performances since the beginning of the RLCS, SadJunior has been one of the biggest names in the game. His recent performances should help him get on a top tier team or perhaps drop to a slightly lesser team that can be built around him.

Next up is Courant "Kaydop" Alexandre, one of the biggest improvement stories between the two seasons of RLCS. In Season 1 with European team Aeriality, Kaydop managed 10 wins and a 30 percent MVP record, then followed it up in Season 2 with 25 wins and a 56 percent MVP record. The improvement is even more impressive considering his team for Season 2, Precision Z, was formed mere hours before the roster lock. While it is hard to challenge the Big 3 teams in Europe, Kaydop could be one of the players to do that.

Back to North America with Braden "Pluto" Schenetzki, the longstanding long-shot maestro from Genesis. Pluto has been a top player in North American Rocket League since he went by the name Plutonium Falcon, and he is nothing if not consistent. Pluto will play that consistently defensive role, scoring .47 goals per game in both seasons of RLCS as well as averaging more than a save per game. Not a flashy player, Pluto will consistently be there to bail out any team of defensive troubles.

Next is Alexander "Sikii" Karelin, also of Precision Z. Sikii was one the those who remained teamless last year with hours remaining until the roster lock. As a player on Mockit EU in Season 1, it was widely accepted that he would not find a team who could play to a similar level, and yet Precision Z was born. With a very stable playstyle, Sikii could fit into almost any team and do well. It is unlikely Sikii will carry, but it is equally unlikely Sikii will be a burden.

The final North American was the hottest player on the hottest team going into RLCS Season 2, Jacob "Jknaps" Knapman formerly of Selfless. Most said that they were shoe-ins to make it to the group stage in Season 2, but in two of the biggest upsets in Rocket League, they didn't make it. Take nothing away from how good Jknaps is -- he's is one of the few North American players to be close to Garrettg's level currently.

Last, but certainly not least, is Pierre "Turbopolsa" Slifver. The Ohmydog and Mockit EU player is one of the most consistently high level players in Europe. With an incredible 81 percent MVP rate in RLCS Season 2 on Ohmydog, it is fair to say that he was the driving force in that team. If Turbopolsa can make the step back up to the top tier of teams, he will fit in just fine there. The question is where he makes that step back up.

These six free agents could have some of the biggest sway over the Rocket League scene in the next few months as they choose their new homes. Expect top teams to form and some surprising ones as well, and the whole landscape of Rocket League could be rewritten with a few moves.
