Seattle Seahawks' home and away opponents for 2017

The Seattle Seahawks clinched first place in the NFC West last month, and now that the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions in the regular-season finale, Seattle's home and away opponents for 2017 have been finalized.

The dates of each game will be determined in the spring when the full regular-season schedule is released.

Home opponents (*playoff team): Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Houston Texans*, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons*.

Away opponents (*playoff team): Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys*, New York Giants*, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers*.

My take: Even though it's a first-place schedule, it doesn't appear all that daunting upon first glance. Just five of the Seahawks' 16 games will come against opponents who are in this year's postseason.

The NFC West could very well be down again, with the Rams and 49ers looking for new coaches. But the Seahawks know those games are going to be difficult regardless. Seattle went 3-2-1 in division games this season.

The Seahawks will get a look at several young quarterbacks, such as Jared Goff (twice), Carson Wentz and Marcus Mariota. The game against the Falcons could be a rematch of the divisional round of the playoffs if the Seahawks take care of business at home next week against the Lions.

And the Seahawks will go to Lambeau Field for the third straight season. They've lost there in each of the past two seasons.
