ESPN to Provide Comprehensive Coverage of 2017 American League Wild Card Game

Two Baseball Tonight Roadshows, Plus SportsCenter On Site, Leading Into ESPN’s Exclusive AL Wild Card Game Telecast

The 2017 MLB Postseason begins Tuesday, October 3, exclusively on ESPN with the MLB American League Wild Card Game telecast presented by Hankook Tire at 8 p.m. ET. Entering competition on September 28, the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins currently hold the first and second AL Wild Card spots, respectively. The battle continues into the final week of the season, as the Yankees are still within reach of first place in the AL East, currently held by the Boston Red Sox.

ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball team of Dan Shulman, analysts Jessica Mendoza and Aaron Boone, and reporter Buster Olney will provide commentary for the telecast. Jon Sciambi will have the call on ESPN Radio with analyst Chris Singleton. Ernesto Jerez, Luis Alfredo Álvarez and Guillermo Celis will provide coverage for ESPN Deportes. ESPN’s production of the AL Wild Card game is also available streaming on the ESPN App.

Baseball Tonight presented by Chevrolet

ESPN’s MLB studio show, Baseball Tonight presented by Chevrolet, will be on site at the AL Wild Card Game on Oct. 3 with one-hour shows at 5 p.m. (ESPN2) and 7 p.m. (ESPN). Karl Ravech, David Ross, Mark Teixeira, Eduardo Pérez and Tim Kurkjian will contribute to the two shows.

Intentional Talk will air a live one-hour show from the site of the AL Wild Card Game at 4 p.m. on ESPN with Chris Rose and 2004 World Series Champion Kevin Millar.

SportsCenter on the Road will provide updates from on site throughout the morning, in addition to interviews during SC6 at 6 p.m. leading up to the 7 p.m. Baseball Tonight. Following the game, SportsCenter on the Road will provide on-site postgame reactions with host Nicole Briscoe.
