Brett Favre on Dak Prescott: 'I'm extremely impressed'

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Dak Prescott tried to play a mind trick on himself Sunday.

“Saw a lot of 4 jerseys,” he said. “Kind of in my head I thought they were Packers fans for me.”

To the contrary, the No. 4 jerseys were for Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre, who received his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring and had his name added to the Lambeau Field façade at halftime. But even the Packers' former No. 4 saw something special in the Dallas Cowboys' No. 4.

Favre approached Prescott at halftime.

“I have to admit, Dallas or not Dallas, I think we can all agree the kid’s playing outstanding and I told him that,” Favre said after the halftime ceremony. “I’m extremely impressed. There’s still a half to play, but I thought coming in that it would be too big for him, this game. Playing at home is a little different. And I give him a tremendous amount of credit. But up to this point ... the kid’s playing incredible. And I think everyone is surprised and shocked.”

Like everything else since becoming the Cowboys’ starting quarterback, Prescott took meeting the Hall of Famer in stride.

“Just really telling me congratulations on my early success, just to keep it up,” Prescott said. “And he was really proud of me.”
