Home Games: Jeff Passan, Tim Kurkjian report from their respective remote setups

Major League Baseball is on hiatus, but ESPN’s team continues to treat every day like game day.

Today on Front Row, ESPN Senior MLB Insider Jeff Passan and MLB Analyst and Reporter Tim Kurkjian each provide a glimpse into what it’s like when workdays are “home games.”

JEFF PASSAN: RAGE AGAINST THE SCREEN

Passan has been a recurring guest on the ESPN Daily podcast, providing a deeper perspective on MLB’s hiatus with special guests.

TIM KURKJIAN: LOST IN TV LAND

Kurkjian is writing a daily “Baseball Fix”, in which he tells, in classic Kurkjian form, a story tied to the date in baseball history.

Kurkjian will be a guest on tonight’s debut of BBTN Live, a new, weekly digital pregame show that streams at 6:30 ET on the ESPN App and ESPN’s Twitter and YouTube platforms ahead of MLB Encore Tuesdays presented by Taco Bell on ESPN.

Tonight’s edition of MLB Encore Tuesdays (7 ET, ESPN) features Cal Ripken Jr.’s iconic “2,131 Game” from Sept. 6, 1995, in which the Baseball Hall-of-Famer broke Lou Gehrig’s seemingly unbreakable record for the most consecutive games played. The game, which featured Ripken, Jr.’s Baltimore Orioles hosting the California Angels, initially aired on ESPN and was called by legendary ESPN commentator Chris Berman.
