All Things ESPN And Tiger Woods You Can’t Afford To Miss

ESPN's storytellers provide big picture insight into Woods' 2019 Masters victory Sunday and in continuing coverage today

Here’s a taste of just a fraction of the storytelling and analysis ESPN provided in the hours after Tiger Woods’ 2019 Masters win.

Watch continuing coverage on SportsCenter and ESPN studio shows all day, including Outside The Lines (1 p.m. ET, ESPN), which will feature journalist Armen Keteyian. He’s a co-author of the book “Tiger Woods.”

“Hello World,” Wright Thompson: “The legend of this day will only grow. . . “

Ian O’Connor writes about how Tiger made the earth shake: “Nobody who was here on this surreal Sunday will ever forget the way the earth moved or the way the roars rose above the towering pines.”

Scott Van Pelt and Andy North recap an historic Sunday at the Masters: “I can’t have you being a puddle up here,” Van Pelt to North, urging him to dry his eyes.

Mark Shlabach with the win not even Tiger saw coming: “Woods waited 14 years to win his fifth. . . The last one might have been the most extraordinary achievement in his most extraordinary career.”

Tiger’s winnings on Sunday topped $2 million; a fortunate bettor did about half as well, per David Purdhum: “Matthew Primeaux, senior vice president of strategy and operations for BetStars, said the book had discussed allowing players to bet $100 on Woods at 100-1, but later settled on $10.

“I believe my direct quote was, ‘Guys, there’s no way Tiger is winning this tournament,'” Primeaux told ESPN. “Whoops.”

The Undefeated resurfaced this piece from last August: “Beyond all of that, Woods is working toward a comeback story for the ages. So please forgive him. Or if you can’t, please forgive me for saying, ‘Go, Tiger, go.'”
