Liverpool willing to sell Daniel Sturridge, but not Danny Ings - sources

Liverpool are ready to listen to offers for Daniel Sturridge during the January transfer window, but are reluctant to loan out Danny Ings, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

Southampton and West Ham United are admirers of Sturridge and they are weighing up moves for the former Chelsea and Manchester City forward.

Ings has also attracted loan enquiries from a host of clubs, including West Bromich Albion and Southampton, but Liverpool will not allow both Ings and Sturridge leave this month as Jurgen Klopp does not want to leave himself short of cover in attack in the second half of the season.

Sturridge's future at Liverpool has been the subject of speculation for the last 18 months with the England international struggling to nail down a place in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI, having made just five Premier League starts this term.

The 28-year-old has not been in the Liverpool squad for the last eight games and he could be tempted to move on in search of regular first-team action to boost his chances of making England's World Cup squad.

Ings, who is back to full fitness after two serious knee injuries, appears to have jumped ahead of Sturridge in the pecking order in Klopp's plans having been named on the bench for the last two games.
