The Knicks are looking to fill out their bench and one position of need is backup guard. One player on the club's list of guards, according to league sources, is Tim Frazier. Frazier, 25, played very well in limited minutes late last season with New Orleans. Nothing is imminent at this point with Frazier, who is a restricted free agent, sources say. The Knicks are trying to create more cap space via trade, according to sources, and would likely need to do so to make a competitive offer to Frazier. The Pelicans would have an opportunity to match any Knicks' offer to Frazier. New York has approximately $4.5 million left in space at this point. (That estimate is based on the deals for Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee being structured traditionally.) The club is also probably considering other veteran guards as options to backup Derrick Rose.
