Detroit Lions move up two spots in ESPN Power Rankings

Beating the Chicago Bears apparently didn’t do much for the Detroit Lions in the eyes of the ESPN Power Rankings voters.

The Lions climbed only two spots to No. 11 after their nationally televised 34-17 win over Chicago that snapped a two-game losing streak. While the Lions won’t face a top-tier opponent again until Week 17, Detroit does have time over the next three weeks to make some bigger moves in the Power Rankings before the showdown with the Green Bay Packers in the regular-season finale.

And that could be for a lot more than some spots in the Power Rankings.

As always, my ballot for the week is below, where I’ve moved Green Bay up to No. 1 and the Lions back into the top 10 (at No. 10). A thought here after doing the rankings this week is how jumbled everything really is after the top four teams. There is not much discernible difference between the teams from No. 5 to No. 11 and then Nos. 12 to 19. That’s how the NFL typically goes.
