Seminoles fall in CFB Vegas Ranks

Welcome to the College Football Vegas Rankings as we enter Week 15 of the season.

We now have a clear No. 1 and No. 2 with Alabama (50) and Oregon (47.5). Not only Vegas, but also the College Football Playoff committee, even before Tuesday night's updated rankings release, believe Alabama and Oregon are the best two teams in the country.

The team that continues to slide down the rankings is undefeated Florida State. It seems as if the more the Seminoles win, the more the committee finds wrong with them. Florida State has its last chance to show a sense of "game control" entering bowl season with the ACC championship game against Georgia Tech.

The CFB Vegas Rankings are the composite power ratings of a panel of professional handicappers and college football statisticians, including fellow Insider Phil Steele, Brian Edwards and Bruce Marshall of The Gold Sheet. The ratings are intended to weigh the relative strength of the teams if they met on a neutral field and to be compared to the point spread on a given game.

For example, if Alabama and Oregon were to play on a neutral field this week, the Crimson Tide would be considered a 2.5-point favorite by our ratings.

Here's a look at the 25 best teams in college football right now, according to Las Vegas.

College Football Vegas Rankings

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (Power rating: 50)

The ATS win for Alabama last week was its first since Week 8 against Texas A&M, as it pushed the spread against LSU in Week 11. Alabama is listed as a two-touchdown favorite in the SEC championship game against Missouri. Alabama has struggled mightily ATS this season at 3-8-1.

Previous rating: 50

2. Oregon Ducks (47.5)

Since losing to Arizona in Week 6, Oregon has been unstoppable.
