It was a bit of a surprise that the Seahawks released rookie quarterback Keith Price Monday after seeing how well the University of Washington product played in rookie camp.

The Seahawks also released defensive end Kenneth Boatright in order to sign veteran defense tackle Kevin Williams, the former Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl player who reached a contract agreement with the Seahawks last week.

Seattle also has signed rookie free agent running back Dimitrius Bronson of Eastern Washington. Could that mean that the team doesn't expect Marshawn Lynch to come to minicamp?

Bronson participated in the team's rookie minicamp last month. Bronson is a local guy from Kentwood, Washington. He played two years at the University of Washington before transferring to Eastern Washington.

Williams is an 11-year veteran who has been voted to six Pro Bowls. He is reportedly signing a one-year deal worth $2 million. He has 60 career sacks.

After releasing Price, the Seahawks still have four quarterbacks on the 90-man roster -- Russell Wilson, Tarvaris Jackson, Terrelle Pryor and B.J. Daniels. Price now is free to sign with any NFL team. He received a $7,000 bonus to sign with the Seahawks and as undrafted free agent.

Boatright played college ball at Southern Illinois and signed with Seattle in April of 2013, but sat out most of last season with an injury.
