Lions re-sign Couplin to practice squad

BAGSHOT, England -- The Detroit Lions waived Jerome Couplin on Monday before the team departed for London because the team needed to add another tight end, Kellen Davis.

Now, though, Couplin is on his way to Europe.

The Lions re-signed Couplin to their practice squad on Wednesday and are flying him over the Atlantic Ocean today. Couplin, who made the Lions initially as an undrafted free agent out of William & Mary, made two tackles and was primarily a special teams player.

The Lions released running back William Powell from the practice squad in a corresponding move.
