The Detroit Lions signed 11 undrafted free agents Monday afternoon -- and there's a decent chance at least one or two of them ends up making the roster. Their first chance at trying to impress coaches will come at this weekend's rookie minicamp.

Before that begins, we'll give you quick primers on each player the Lions signed, but did not draft.

Name: Chad Abram

Position: Fullback

Career College Stats: 21 games, 13 carries, 54 yards, 0 TD. 9 rec., 73 yards, 3 TDs. 11 special teams tackles.

Depth chart he’s looking at: Jed Collins; Montell Owens.

Chances of making it to camp: 65 percent. His special teams ability -- he was one of the better team players Florida State had -- could get him into camp and get him a strong look. But if the Lions choose to keep their two veterans, it could end up as a short camp stay. If he does, it would almost assuredly be as a practice squad player.

Why him: Special teams. The Lions didn’t get their primary four-corps special teams type of player they were hoping to out of the draft so they are going to use free agency to find it. That Abram has extensive special teams experience both is not surprising as a fullback and also likely the reason he is on the Detroit roster in the first place. Another thing that likely helps Abram is he is able to catch the ball out of the backfield. It would be highly, highly unlikely he would replace either Collins or Owens -- but could be worth keeping an eye on if they use him on a lot of teams early on.
