January 23 Marks Opening Weekend for the Seven-Week Saturday Morning and Evening Show

ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm will return to the campus of Michigan State for the fourth time, in advance of the Saturday Primetime presented by DIRECTV matchup between Big Ten foes – No. 5 Michigan State vs. No. 3 Maryland on Saturday, Jan. 23. The morning show begins at 11 a.m. on ESPN, followed by an evening edition leading into the game telecast.

ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams. Dan Shulman, Bilas and reporter Shannon Spake will have the call of the Michigan State-Maryland game.

GameDay will originate from East Lansing for the fourth time, adding to visits in 2007, 2011 and 2014, while the Spartans will be part of the show for the eighth time overall (road team in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011). Maryland will be appearing at the site of GameDay for the second time (hosted in 2005).

For the second straight season, the College GameDay site will be announced one-week prior to the show, ensuring visits to sites of top storylines and games appearing on ESPN networks each week.

Times for Michigan State-Maryland, as well as the previously announced netflex games of Vanderbilt at No. 9 Kentucky and No. 7 Arizona at California, will be announced at a later date.

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
