A quick look at Jed Collins' contract

Detroit found its new fullback Wednesday when it signed Jed Collins, previously of New Orleans, to a one-year veteran minimum deal.

There isn't much different to his contract than what would be likely expected.

His official salary-cap number is $635,000. Collins has a base salary of $645,000 and a signing bonus of $65,000 for a total of $710,000 for the San Juan Capistrano, Calif., native.

The only guarantee on his deal is the $65,000 signing bonus.

For Collins, this one-year contract is the most he has made during his time in the NFL.

The Lions now have $10,788,107 in cap money invested in running backs for 2014, led by Reggie Bush's $4.5 million and Joique Bell's $2.3 million. The team has $11,273,297 in cash value tied up in the position, led by Bell's $4.3 million, Bush's $3.5 million and $1.005 million to Montell Owens. They are the only three running backs on the roster with a cash value over $1 million for 2014.
