ESPN2 Opens Season November 16 as Part of Tip-Off Marathon

ESPN’s 2015-16 women’s college basketball regular-season schedule includes 137 games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and Longhorn Network – topping the number of games previously aired on ESPN networks.

ESPN2’s women’s basketball schedule opens with the annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon presented by Constant Contact on Monday, Nov. 16, showcasing three-time defending national champion UConn at No. 13 Ohio State at 5:30 p.m. ET – the first of 10 games tipping off about every two hours before programming switches over to ESPN.

The schedule boasts 24 of 25 programs on the espnW.com Way-too-early Top 25 poll – created by bracketologist Charlie Creme at the conclusion of the 2015 Final Four. espnW.com will provide season-long original content and supporting material for ESPN’s top games.

The addition of ESPN3 games and ESPN College Extra’s schedule, a new college sports service announced in September that brings hundreds of ESPN3 exclusive live college sports events to the TV, will be announced at a later date and result in a record number of contests this season.

All telecasts will be streamed live on WatchESPN, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Schedule Highlights:

  • ESPN – two early-season top-25 matchups, plus two February dates that include a Netflex option.

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
