Capitol Artist NF Lends "Intro" to Madden NFL 16 Soundtrack

Capitol Records' rising hip-hop artist and talented lyricist, NF, has officially made his mark on the world of Madden with "Intro" - the opening song off his first full-length album, Mansion. ESPN Music had a chance to catch up with the Michigan native to talk all things music and Madden.

On August 25th, EA Sports kicked off football season by releasing Madden NFL 16. With the return of EA Trax, the Madden NFL 16 soundtrack was released on Spotify the very same day. Alongside NF's "Intro", the soundtrack features more than 30 songs from artists like twenty one pilots, The Weeknd, Yelawolf, John Newman, James Bay and also includes first-listen exclusives from LunchMoney Lewis, Brooke Candy and Jimi Charles Moody.

"It's an amazing opportunity. It is so cool to be an artist and to have your song featured in a video game like that. EA heard "Intro" and they thought it was a great fit. It's really an intense crazy song and it just works really good for football"..."I mean, the Madden games are some of the biggest games on the planet. I'm looking forward to playing it on the tour bus" - NF

Although new to the gaming scene, NF is no stranger to the sports world. "Wake Up" and "Hands Up" off his self-titled EP could be heard throughout the 2014 football season on ESPN's Monday Night Football, SportsCenter, NFL Live and NFL Insiders. The avid Detroit Lions fan told ESPN Music "My favorite player right now period would be Calvin Johnson. I think he's an incredible football player".

NF described the difference between his EP and Mansion, telling ESPN Music: "Mansion was more mature in me really finding my sound, I think the EP sounded well but with Mansion I just felt it was a lot more in depth. I felt like it let me express myself a lot more just because I had more opportunity since I had more songs. I had more room to express myself." When asked about his musical influences right now, NF went on to name Eminem and Ed Sheeran. "Two totally different artists but I grew up listening to Eminem my whole life. I used to only listen to rap and then when I got older I started listening to Ed Sheeran." NF continued, "I just think he's one of the most incredible artists right now and Eminem is the most talented lyricist to ever be born."
