Forgive us for doubting you, Nick Saban. We're back on the Alabama bandwagon.
The Crimson Tide make a big jump in this week's SEC bowl projections after hammering Georgia 38-10 on Saturday. And that wasn't the conference's only commanding win that helped a team move up the list. Florida (which stunned Ole Miss 38-10) and Texas A&M (a 30-17 winner against Mississippi State) are undefeated and looking like contenders after ranking among the SEC's also-rans in 2014.
For now, we'll let LSU occupy the top spot as a College Football Playoff participant since the Tigers are 4-0 and have Leonard Fournette in their backfield. But Saturday's 44-22 win over Eastern Michigan was a lackluster effort, and Les Miles' team will have to become much more efficient if it is to survive a brutal November slate and reach the playoff.
Georgia and Ole Miss both take a tumble after their humiliating losses Saturday, and Auburn, Tennessee and Arkansas are barely clinging to spots in the lower rungs of the list. Auburn (3-2) ended an ugly two-game losing streak by edging San Jose State, but the Tigers, Volunteers (2-3) and Razorbacks (2-3) are in danger of not reaching the six-win total necessary to participate in the postseason. We'll keep them in for now, but things are not looking particularly sunny.
