Details on Webster, Freese, Reid contracts

Now that they have been drafted and are already in Detroit, the Lions have begun to sign those draft picks. Five of them signed last week -- leaving only Eric Ebron, Kyle Van Noy and Travis Swanson without deals as of noon on Monday.

Some of the details of the contracts that have been signed are now out.

For fourth-round defensive tackle Larry Webster, he has a signing bonus of $300,584 -- his only guaranteed money. His base salary will be $420,000 in 2014, $510,000 in 2015, $600,000 in 2016 and $690,000 in 2017. The more important number -- the cap number -- will be $495,146 in 2014, $585,146 in 2015, $675,146 in 2016 and $765,146 in 2017.

His dead money portion of the deal -- which starts as $300,584 in 2014 -- will drop by $75,146 from that number in each year.

Caraun Reid, the fifth-round defensive tackle out of Princeton, had the same base salary numbers as Webster, but a signing bonus of $188,880. This leaves him with cap numbers of $467,220 in 2014, $557,220 in 2015, $647,220 in 2016 and $737,220 in 2017. The dead money on Reid's contract starts at the guaranteed number of $188,880 and drops by $47,220 each year.

Kicker Nate Freese, signed in the seventh round, has the same base deal as Webster and Reid, but his signing bonus -- and only guaranteed money -- was $59,424. That leaves his cap numbers at $434,856 in 2014, $524,856 in 2015, $614,856 in 2016 and $704,856 in 2017. His dead money in his contract starts at $59,424 and drops $14,856 every year.
