U.S. Open champion Justin Rose has withdrawn from this week's Honda Classic due to right shoulder tendinitis, the PGA Tour announced Tuesday.
Rose, the sixth-ranked player in the world, also missed the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines because of the injury.
He returned at the Northern Trust Open earlier this month, finishing tied for 45th.
Rose won the U.S. Open, his first major, at Merion last summer. He played deep into 2013 by finishing the European Tour season in China, Turkey and Dubai. He also played in South Africa.
Rose's withdrawal puts Ricky Barnes in the field at the Honda, which starts Thursday in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
